Hi there! I’m Lacey! Thank you for visiting my site!
I have been married to my amazing husband for 6 years. We met in college and quickly became inseparable. He’s my best friend, my confidante, and my vault. I don’t know where I’d be today without his constant and enduring support and encouragement.
We have 2 beautiful little girls and 1 angel baby. Our oldest was born in 2016 and absolutely turned our world upside in the best of ways. The following year, we lost our son in a second-trimester loss. We were blessed with our Irish twin rainbow baby the next year. Motherhood has been a whirlwind so far, and absolutely full of ups and downs, but I couldn’t be more grateful for our little family.
A little about me . . .
I have my degree in Music Education and used to teach piano and flute lessons at a privately owned studio. I performed at a few gigs for community events, and would *love* to get back into performing. Getting my degree in education seemed to be the logical route with music, but my passion was always performing on stage with a band or orchestra. The feeling of being unified with so many in breath and rhythm and pulse gave my heart life and excitement that I’ve yet to fill otherwise.
Since getting married back in 2012, I’ve been a full-time stay at home wife, although I’ve dabbled in ways to bring in extra income for our family (hello direct sales and that 3 week run at a bank. Whoops.) I’m now a full-time mama and part-time blogger who spends her early mornings working, her days caring for home and littles, and her evenings exhausted and fulfilled.
I finally took the plunge and started this blog in June 2018. I’d been thinking of blogging for the past 2 and a half years. I spent that time learning on and off how to blog. My husband and I were driving around town one day talking about the things we want for our lives and how to create that life, when I finally committed to giving it a try, because I knew that if I didn’t try, I’d keep coming back to it over and over again. I chose the name Simple Quiet Mama, because that’s who I am. I am simply a mama who wants to lead a simple and quiet life, and I believe that we are not victims of circumstance, but creators of our reality through the choices we make.
A little more about me . . .
I am a Christian. You won’t see or hear me talking about how God called me to something or see Bible verses in every post, but know that my faith flavors everything I write. I’m thankful for my opportunities, and I strive to be a good steward of the blessings I’ve been given.
I love to read and knit. I love new toothbrushes and blank spiral notebooks. And I think long walks while dreaming & scheming can heal the soul.
